Happy Birthday, Mr President

Published by astrozombie at 6:48 am under new music Edit This

Legendry punk Jello Biafra is celebrating his 50th birthday soon with a big bash. Not only does the line up include the Jelvins (the fantastic collaboration between Biafra and the Melvins) but a new Biafra band that features new music. What defines this new act from a vast majority of post-Dead Kennedys Biafra projects is that the band does not exsist as an entity without him.

I’m dying to hear this new band and its new material.  Next to that, your birthday party sucks. Give up, buy a plane ticket and go to that.

More musical news, now. After various – read: two – friends rubbished my idea of a Bruce Lee vs Nelson Mandela musical I have decided that perhaps I won’t do it. What about Serj Tankian of System of a Down? He might do one. Hold on! He IS doing one! Based on a Greek tragedy.

Why is he doing it? Goodness knows; maybe he feels he can widen the minds of musical followers to discuss the destruction of human rights whilst being overly camp?

And just before I done pressed “publish” another friend has reminded me of this - it would seem that the emo kids are taking things written in the Daily Mail too personally. What, are they too white for them? Hahaha.

What a bizarre and wonderful world we live in. But, wait, are all the people going on the protest My Chemical Romance fans? Are all My Chemical Romance fans emo kids? Are all emo kids My Chemical Romance fans?

For fucks sake, people: it’s the Daily Mail. Anybody expecting the Daily Mail to give anybody but over-moralistic, judgmental racists a fair voice are morons. By protesting their statements, they’re legitimising the papers opinions by saying they’re ‘valid’. They’re also known as the Daily Hate Mail and the Daily Racist.

What’s the point? All this proves is emo kids take offence more easily than immigrants.

Plus, this isn’t really a emo song, it’s just a great rock song:
